Where is all this happening?
We are hosting this event at Hillsborough River State Park, 15402 US Highway 301 North in Thonotosassa, Florida 33592.
The scare trail will be in the same area as years past, just off of parking lot 3 on the right side of the main loop road.
Just how scary are we talking?
The Haunted Woods Scare Trail is well known for it’s super-scary vibe! Be prepared for this year’s theme, “Your Worst Nightmare” to thrill you with jump scares, flashing lights, shouting and screaming, loud sound effects, fog features, and more. While we believe Halloween is for everyone, we do not recommend the Haunted Woods scare trail for children under 12. Also, please be advised that the trail goes through uneven ground in the dark of night and it is recommended to wear closed-toed shoes.
Where should I park?
We will have designated parking attendants in orange safety vests to assist you to parking as it is available.
Can I camp?
For camping reservations, please visit ReserveFloridaStateParks.org
Is there a pumpkin carving contest this year?
As in years past, we are happy to host a pumpkin carving contest for registered campers in the campground. Information will be included in your camper’s packet upon check-in. A limited amount of pumpkins will be available to purchase in the campground.
Will there be food?
Food service this year will be provided by Adventure Capital, our park’s designated concessionaire, and for sale at three locations within the event area, including our recently re-opened café.
Is alcohol permitted?
For the comfort and safety of all visitors, no alcohol will be served or sold at Haunted Woods. We ask that you refrain from drinking at our event.
